The Optical Termination Box (OTB) consists of three sections: the Pigtail and Cable Inlet, the Splice Tray, and the Patch Cord compartment. The Splice Tray is located in one section of the box, while the Patch Cord is situated in another. The layout of the incoming cables should allow easy access for installation, maintenance, and the addition of extra secondary cables. All components of the OTB should exhibit high-quality design, craftsmanship, and finish.

It is designed for optical cable work and applicable to be connected between distribution cable and subscriber cable into customer premises in the fiber optic network.
